Good Points

Easy to load and unload - especially the top drawer. Versatile rack system, I take out some racks from the bottom drawer to use it for pots and bigger plates. I love the versatility of the two drawers. Very simple to use. Uses much less powder. Easy to clean.


Bad Points

Bottom drawer is noisier than the top one. Plastic sides amplify the water hitting the sides when the drawer is not very full.


General Comments

I am astounded at the number of faults people have experienced with the Fisher and Paykel dishdrawers! Maybe the NZ ones are not made in the same factories as the UK ones but I have had 3 in 3 houses in the last 10 years. It is the only dishwasher I would install. First one installed 1999, had a callout as the top drawer began rusting, which was replaced under warranty; second house, 2004 - integrated dishdrawer - no problems. Latest one installed in my current house, 2006 - runs like clockwork. I know 4 friends and family with dishdrawers and to the best of my knowledge, they have not had any problems either. F&P has a huge market share in NZ whiteware and generally makes innovative and reliable products. Here their products are not overly expensive compared to the competition. Such a shame they seem to have dropped the ball when taking their products internationally.
