Good Points

The woman on the phone seemed very nice.

Bad Points

I don't trust them at all, they tried to make out I had bad credit rating when the opposite is true. My credit rating is absolutely excellent.

They never intend to give low rate loans and I doubt if anyone ever qualifies for a low rate with them. They want to send your personal information to other people and come across more like spammers than a professional loan company.

I will never apply for a loan with them again.

General Comments

I phoned to apply for a loan from the AA yesterday, after a credit check I was refused.

But I have excellent credit rating and have actually been obsessed with keeping a good credit rating since I was 18 (25 years) -- I even have online accounts with Experian and Equifax where I can check my credit rating and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

The only problem I can think is that I have paid a few loans off early but this should not affect my rating?

I think the AA are just pretending to offer the low 8% rates but after you have applied they say that you only qualify for a higher rate. I told the woman on the phone that I only wanted the 8% rate and wasn't interested in being offered anything higher.

Very few people will have such a good credit record as mine - I have never ever been late with any payment in my entire life. But now the AA have given me a lower credit rating score and for no reason.

I am also concerned that when I was applying over the phone for a loan I was informed by the woman that by applying for the loan I was agreeing that my personal information could be passed on to other people for marketing or promotional purposes. I clearly told the woman that I don't want any of my information passed on to anyone and I was informed that after the loan had been processed that I could easily opt out.

So now that I was refused, what about the opting out? Has my personal details been passed onto any other companies or to anyone? I clearly told the woman that I did not agree to this.

It was a bad idea for me to apply for a loan with them, they give you bad rating for no reason and may start to send you spam emails.

When I said 'I don't want any of my personal information passed onto anyone' have they respected what I asked and not used my application as some type of an agreement from me to do this, because I definitely did not agree.
