Good Points

You could get a car if you really needed one and couldnt think of any other way.


Bad Points

No transparency. No prices on cars or advice on how calculations are made. Pressure from salespeople - ie lying about what stock they have, insisting that you test drive prior to talking about figures and trying to sell products you clearly say you don't want. Ok I do have a bad credit profile but I deserve good customer service - I'm also not stupid and very glad I stood up for myself.


General Comments

Went to the Luton branch of Welcome Car Finance. At first we couldn't find it as the postcode they sent us was wrong. On arrival noticed that there was about 25 cars when I had been told on the phone there were 60. The showroom smelt horrible of cheap disinfectant and we were greeted by a scruffy salesman. After asking what type of car I wanted he came back with 4 sets of keys for cars that 'matched'. They discourage you from looking at the cars and choosing yourself. All of the cars were dirty inside. I then spotted 1 that looked ok and asked to look at it. The salesman said I would have to do a test drive before he would give me the figures. I said I wanted to know the cost first otherwise it was pointless. He gave in after I wouldn't budge and told me the 4 year old Corsa would cost me 'just' 210 pounds a month over 4 years !! Tried to sell me various warranty products that I said I didnt want. Sais I wasnt interested and asked for my documents back. He went off upstairs and left me waiting 15 mins then sent another person to talk to me. Still no sign of my documents. I said to the person I just wanted to go and insisted they get my documents back. They eventually appeared brought down by someone else!! The salesman had just ignored me after I said I wasn't interested. The service is very bad. No prices on cars and no transparency. Wasn't advised how the calculations were arrived at and just felt they were trying to con me. Much better off getting a loan and buying elsewhere.
