Bad Points
They seem to be totally incompetent and actually make it virtually impossible to contact them to get any information if there is a problem, which is very frustrating.
They will have earned interest on MY money for 2 months and I have ended up with no desk or pedestal.
General Comments
I would not recommend a friend or anyone else to place an order with Furniture at Work.
I placed an order for a desk and a pedestal on Friday 13/3/09 with delivery supposed to be within 5-10 working days. The money was immediately taken from my card on 16/3/09. I started asking the Customer Services department by email, for a delivery date after 5 days so that someone would be in at the required time. After many emails over the next 5 weeks, I still could not get any idea of a delivery date so emailed requesting to cancel the order.There was no response to this request.
Additionally, the Customer Services phone number was only answered once out of a dozen atttempts - today - after I was transferred across by a semi-competent person on the Sales number.
No-one could really say what had happened to my order, but I was told that a refund was being processed and will be done within 7-10 working days. I am not holding my breath and will have to take the matter up with my card company if no refund materialises.
It is possible that they are only really interested in large office type orders for say 100 desks and pedestals, but their website does not say this.
