Barbados is a lovely island - really good to get a car and drive round the whole thing (its very small). Definitely worth going over to the opposite coast - and see the pacific waves crashing in.

The Crystal Cove is only 'OK' in my opinion. The actual rooms are very dissapointing and unimaginative - quite underwhelming when you get into one of them.

The rest of the hotel is nice though - you get a lovely welcome from the staff with a rum punch when you arrive. The pools are great and the communal areas are pretty good

The beach is quite dissapointing - its a bit rocky and not what you really expect from this stretch of coastline. Some of the guys on the beach who are trying to sell you jetski hires are quite annoying too - the staff should really keep them off your back a bit

Food was OK but not great - edible but not that exciting. There was a real problem when we were there of birds getting inside the indoor dining areas - quite unhygenic having a sparrow standing on the food before you eat it. Not huge amounts they can do, but I'd have thought they could do something?

Overall we had a nice 10 day stay here but with a bit more imagination / expense paid on the actual rooms it could have been even better.

I've never been to an all inclusive before and was slightly nervous (visions of brits abroad downing shots all day long came to mind...) however, it was fine - although the lack of exciting food was a bit of an issue.

One problem with this stretch of Barbados is that its not great for going for walks (which we like to do)

You can walk a certain distance on the coastline but there are areas that you cannot pass.

If you walk on the road outside the hotel most of it doesnt have a pavement, so particularly when its dark you very much take your life in your own hands walking round some of the bends in pitch blackness with cars doing about 70km coming at you!
