The The Clift San Francisco is a really cool and funky hotel, but the staff aren't the most friendly or helpful and it is a little bit style over substance.

When we were there, there was a long queue to get in to the hotel in the evening as the bar is a very popular stand alone bar. As a guest you can go in at the front of the queue which is good.

The downside was that if you fancy a quick drink in your hotel bar its absolutely rammed!

If you're going for a fun and fairly funky hotel which is buzzy its definitely the right place - anything else then its not right for you
