Good Points

Good reputation, design, effective and do a really good job. Nice to use and feel good to handle.


Bad Points

High cost, cable gets twisted very easily, no indication of whether hot or not. Service contact a bit difficult.


General Comments

Always thought this item was the bees knees and three years ago splashed out and bought my first one. At well over £100 it was a big decision and I couldn't tell my parents for ages! I was very disappointed when after about 12 months a fault developed and the irons stopped working. As the guarantee period had expired i had to do with a cheaper make and it was then that I really appreciated the quality of ghd. and couldn't wait until I had enough cash to buy a replacement. i was able to do this in June 2006 and for the next 15 months everything was fine but then the same fault developed. This time my father was so indignant that he wrote to GHD and sent the iron back. Once again the 12month guarantee period had expired but he persisted and eventually it was agreed to repair the fault FOC as a goodwill gesture. That was May last year, 2008, and would you believe the same fault has occurred again but as this is less than 12 months the unit is still under guarantee. I just wonder if there is anyone else out there who has experienced the same problem. I can't believe that I am the only one suffering!
