Good Points

Aircraft interior looks new, some good freebies - free magazines , chocolate, soft toy and photo with infant (but can not compare with the service and baby pack from Cathay)


Bad Points

Do not offer service unless repeat request, constant waiting (on food, service, toilet...etc), not baby/child friendly, Do not answer phone calls (both Auckland land office and airport)...etc


General Comments

Had a very bad experience with Emirates this Easter. Flew Emirates with 1yr old baby from Auckland to Sydney (3 hr flight). Full flight but staff can only been seen at take off, meal serve and landing (one fresh looking air hostess did response to requests on the departure flight). Availability of services is zero on the return flight. Seats were dirty on the return flight (patch of food scrap on seat).
It would be fine if the whole experience is like a bus trip - u get on and then off, no ties whatsoever. But I made the careless mistake to leave camera on the return flight. Hence a marathon of phone calls - 16 in total, to their Auckland land office and airport. All calls were directed to the same recording machine which - either cut you off after diverting you to different recorded message (cut off point was pretty much at 'not buying ticket, not joining reward, asking questions - dooooo), or let you wait on listening to their various advertisements ('enjoy the service on flight...etc') forever . My last call was on-hold for 1 hour plus, which could be longer only I gave up - because their closing hr was reached and I feel no hope with the wait. Wrote emails and 3 days later got reply 'sorry but feel free to contact us shall you require' - Yes, indeed one has to be very free (time) to contact them at all.

Summary: only worth to go Emirates when they're on super special (not in my case), short flight, do not travel with children or people who may need assistance, have no expectations.
