Good value for the money (I got mine for $99.99) solid wood stock, high visibility sights, VERY powerful, and pretty accurate.
Bad Points
The screws holding the stock to the mechanism seem to want to loosen up over time and I've had to tighten them frequently. Plastic front and rear sights seem a bit delicate, so you need to handle this thing with a bit more care.
General Comments
I'm surprised by the negative reviews that the Crosman Quest 1000 gun has recieved. I bought this gun because I had a pest problem, but quickly realized that it might be a bit too powerful. The wadcutter ammo I bought would completly penetrate the 7/8ths thick peice of pine I used as a backstop at about 20 feet (it even penetrated a penny at about 10 feet), so you want to be aware of your back ground when shooting.
I'm no marksman by any means, but I found the sights to be very accurate. After a bit of "zeroing in", I was able to hit groups the size of a soup can lid at 10 meters. The sights are much easier to use on a sunny day. They are plastic, though, and I wish I'd had the option of getting something a bit more durable.
Though this thing has a scope mount, I don't think it would be a good option on a break barrel rifle and I'm not surprised by the negative reviews that the scoped version has received here.
As nice a gun as this is, it would have been nice to have the ability to upgrade it a bit with some aftermarket sights, something a bit more durable than what they ship it with. I have had very little luck finding anything that will fit this gun, though.
