General Comments

I have lately returned from a tour hol in SA with Kuoni. Overall the holiday was good.
Last time was with Saga they were much better value for money.
This is the second holiday I have booked with Kuoni first was to Kenya. The Holidays seems to go down hill as the holiday gets to its end. Will have to think hard and long before going with them again.
Started the holiday flying out with SA airline on a Airbus 340/600 outward no problem. See return.
We had a rep who was english but now lives in SA, she rammed SA down our throats for the whole 2 weeks. The average age of the 12 people was 55 + she treated us like stupid school kids. She was arrogant and dismissive when asked questions, her comments on the first day any questions just ask. When you brought problems to her notice she would dismiss them with, " write to the company and complain".
Our hotel room at Toms Hotel in Swaziland, I wouldn't put a dog in, we were moved after complaining and were taken to a room I possibly may have put a dog in. On arrival the Hotel manager stated that he was not expecting us. The food was second class and restaurant service was totally disorganised.
Had a 3 1/2 hr game tour of Elhowe Elhowe game reserve, spent 40 mins having breakfast and 20 mins getting to the picnic site, saw very few animals.
Two wine tasting sessions in Stellenbosch, first one very interesting. Second winery, basically they didn't want us there, we were nothing but an inconvenience.
Farewell evening meal in Cape Town, typical Cape Malay cooking we would have been better of going to McDonalds, food and service rubbish.
Last day in Cape Town, late flight home, asked rep if there was a room we could freshen up before flight home. No room available, had to organise our own room, hotel were very accomodating, pity rep had not have been so.
Flight home arrived at airport suddenly our cases were heavier than flying out to SA. Airline wanted £150 for excess baggage.
Aeroplane home was an Airbus 340/300 (smaller plane) ok for a flight to Canaries 12 hr flight I don't think so. Six people had flown out with SA airline, four with BA and two with Virgin. we all flew from Heathrow. WHY?
