I payed £1,000 to insure my Nissan micra with Adrian Flux Car Insurance. This seemed a good deal at the time as other insurance companies were looking at premiums at around 2-3,000 pounds as im only 18years old. When i took out insurance i told them that in the january i was doing a pass plus course, which was later canceled till the end of february. I got badgered constantly for the certificate that i could not supply them with, so they asked me for the 30% discount that they reckon they gave me off my policy which meant i had to pay them £380 immediately otherwise they would cancel my policy, even though that 30% discount wasnt even in the breakdown as applied to my policy. They wouldnt take any confirmation off pass plus, and they insisted i had fabricated the cancelation of the course, and they refused to speak to pass plus. After alot of stress, I had to ask trading standards to intervene to buy me the time i needed until the course was completed. They had to listen to the ombudsman who spoke to them on my behalf as this was out of my power.
If you think this was bad, I just had a bump that wasnt my fault and have also got witnesses and they trying to convince me that its all my fault and cant fight my corner because they are claming liability on my behalf because the other party is also insured with this awful company and they really just want a quick fix!!! Instead of them fighting for me (this is what we pay legal cover for) now i have to seek my own independent advice as i have a personal injiry that they wont represent me for because its my fault . . apparently!
