First Call do not provide the service they say they offer. They say they give an hours roadside assistance but when our car wouldn't start they just sent a tow truck. It was late, and needed to get home, so had to fork out £140 to get towed. When my mechanic looked at the car the next morning the problem was a loose wire and he was surprised that it hadn't been discovered and repaired at the roadside. So they cost us £140 completely unnecessarily. Perhaps these budget companies are a false economy? Incidentally when I complained that they had not offered what they promise, they asked for a full service history - which foolishly I haven't kept recent records of (although the car is in a good state of repair). So they refuse to even address my complaint - which has nothing to do with my car. Seems dishonest avoidance tactics and I'm currently pursuing it. I wouldn't recommend First Call to anyone - it'll probably cost you more money in the end and certainly will not give you peace of mind.
