How quickly the joy of owning a new bike disappears when faults start to appear!!.The 2nd time I rode my shiny new 125 11,there was a loud clunk from the engine and loss of oil,this was traced to a broken oil seal on the generator drive shaft and repaired under warranty,cost of seal £5,cost of taking the bike back to the dealer, £60.
Things went well for a while until I had to go on a long trip,over 20 miles!!,at the first roundabout the bike died an embarrasing death,leaving me in a dangerous position and feeling a right idiot as the traffic built up behind.A year later and the next thing to go wrong was the bike stopped turning over on the electric start switch,this was traced to the starter motor,once the motor had been stripped down,it was found that two of the magnets inside had become unstuck from the body,a quick trip for some Araldite Gel sorted that.I have also noticed that the rubber has started to perish,and the bikes not even 2 years old!!
Just waiting for the next problem to show it's ugly head!! My warning to potential buyers is,if you are'nt mechanically minded forget it,it will give you nothing but grief,and end up costing you money in repair bills
