Convenient for purchasing.
Bad Points
Product not as described. reluctant to correct problems. No personal service. I made 4 visits to the shop overall and have been served by a different member of their staff on each occasion.
General Comments
I recently bought a pair of varifocal spectacles from the Brighton store, using a prescription that I had made up elsewhere. The Salesperson was polite and attentive and sold me the glasses assuring me that the lenses would be very similar to the ones that I was wearing in both terms of thinness and width of field of vision. When the glasses arrived the lenses were much thicker and the field of view narrower than my present lenses. so after a few days I took them back and after a lengthy discussion they agreed to replace the lenses with a slightly thinner (more expensive) one FOC. Two weeks later I had the lenses fitted and they were fine except that one of the lenses had a small chip in it and so they ordered another replacement lens. Two weeks later I had the replacement lens fitted and low and behold, it was thicker than the one it replaced. The assistant assured me that the "minor difference" in thickness was due to the fact that the prescription for that eye was different (actually, that particular eye is non functioning and the lens only needed to be matched to the good eye), reminding him that the lens it replaced wasn't thicker, nor were my current glasses had no affect. Because of Vision Express's policy of full payment on order, it weakens the buyers position in cases of dispute.
