Feb 8, 2009 LHR to TBS flight. What a nightmare! Plane couldn't land in Tbilisi so diverted back to Yerevan for 12 hours while the crew "rested" in a local hotel . How nice for them, while they rested, BMI's local staff refused the passengers new boarding passes which kept us hostage in the departure lounge. They did not give us water or food vouchers - they kept bringing out the same nasty leftover, unrefrigerated curry lentil dinners from the flight as the only offer. We had no access to phones or internet. Anyone who wanted to leave the airport and hire a taxi to Tbilis. They also said that it was against company policy to issue business lounge passes to anyone not flying business class. Consequently we spent 12 hours lying on the floor. A truly awful airline, never ever to be flown again.
