General Comments

I have had one of these Britannia Sigma cookers for just under three years now (Stainless steel, 90cm duel fuel, double oven). I have to say that I am rather disappointed with it. There are several irritating design issues that make it difficult to use (need to bend down all the time to see what each knob does, the main oven switch feels very cheap, oven lights last about 6 months before blowing). The oven thermostat is very inaccurate and cooks way too hot (my wife still can ' t get a cake to bake properly). The grill only covers the back two thirds of the main oven which means that any food placed at the front will not cook properly. The arrangement of the pan stands are not great, we don't use it that much but already the top is looking very scratched and tired. The rotisserie lost part of the mechanism, it just fell out, I found it on the kitchen floor and luckily I realised what it was and was able to fit it back in. All in all not a great experience.

What really annoyed me was that the cooker stopped working completely a few weeks ago (blew the main fuse) Britannia then charged me £140 to fix it, a job that took all of 15 minutes, despite the Britannia engineer saying that this was a fairly common problem on their cookers. Had I gone back to the company I bought it off I would have had the repair done for free under the sale of goods act. I really don ' t expect a £2000 cooker to last under 3 years before breaking down.

The cookers look fabulous in the showroom but my experience of their usability, reliability, and customer care from Britannia leave a lot to be desired.
