The Ladies love this bike when you go past as its so bulky, stylish and loud! with the right exhaust.
My cat is the yamaha blue color. (looks mint)
Very quick
Top speed 159mph at approx 12,000rpm
Bad Points
difficult to get upgrades / parts due to the bike no longer being made but theres still shops selling bits.(and ebay)
1st gear is sluggish when restricted.
General Comments
Bought my Yamaha YZF-600R Thundercat 600 last year.
It's my first big bike and it's currently restricted for 2 years at 33 BHP. I took it out before i restricted it and it definitely leaves your guts at the traffic lights when you fly off on a quick start.
Now it's restricted, 1st gear is a bit sluggish, (you can feel it pulling back struggling to get the fuel through) but once your in 2nd, you would never tell its restricted.
Not had any problems apart from the usual, changing parts that wear quickly. Its recently started to make a bit of a gargling sound from the exhaust, im not sure what it is but it made the cat cut out 4 times......... so im waiting for my first major problem to start.
But i defo recommend this bike! great fun.
