Good Points

Low Price, Shoots BB's and Pellets. Pellets are surprisingly accurate given the price of the gun, Fiberoptic front sight. Its pretty powerful for a BB gun. More stylish than the 70's looking 880

Bad Points

Loose Front Sight initially impaired accuracy, anemic power compared to more respectable adult airguns, Poor scope and weak mounting dovetail, It may look better than the 880, but that;s really not saying much. I still think its ugly

General Comments

I have a Daisy Powerline 880 my next door neighbor has a 901. We took them apart next to each other and the innards are exactly the same. The only difference is the black plastic stock and the fact that the 901 is slightly harder to pump on account of it's shorter lever, actually the whole forend hinges out instead of a separate lever like the 880. The front sight seems nicer, but like the 880 is part of a shim that bridges the quite considerable gap between the inner barrel and the stamped sheetmetal barrel shroud. The front sight is just popped in and retained rather slopily by a detent in a hole. Accuracy benefited greatly by gluing the sight in place so it can't rotate in a 2 degree arc as it did before. The rear sight seems slightly better at staying in adjustment on my friend's 901 than on my 880, but its still barely adequate. Please don't waste your money on the daisy scope. An empty toilet paper tube would be just as accurate and has a wider field of view to boot. In all fairness to the scope, the reciever dovetail is not well suited to its function. It is only part of one half of the plastic reciever which means that half of it is a very thin projection that rests on top of but not anchored to the other half of the reciever. This thin projection is very prone to flexing and makes for an extreemely poor mounting surface.
