Good Points

Looks nice


Bad Points

Too many faults for price tag.
Puts UK manufacturing in a bad light.
12 month labour warranty is inadequate


General Comments

Our Hotpoint FF187E has malfunctioned three times in 15 months.
Firstly the freezer door seal kept coming away and their engineer replaced this under warranty.
Then the fridge drawer cracked for no apparent reason but fixed this myself using a bolt!
Then - big time - as with so many other people - the fridge was too warm due to pack ice building up .
Nothing in the manual about this or otherwise informed of the risk - Hotpoint didnt tell us when we rang them up .. just sent an engineer out who used my wifes hair dryer !
And said we owe them £100 or have to take out a £16 a month policy to cover the cost and future 12 months.
Ultimately the appliance looks nice but is badly designed, cheaply made (though costs quite a bit)
