Good Points

None that I can think of. I would not recommend anyone to sign up for a MARBLES Credit Card account

Bad Points

Everything you can really think about.
1. Hopeless Help Line.
2- 0845 shared cost phone lines charging you to complain.
3. Won't give out email addresses to enable you to resolve complaints quickly.
4. Deliberate slow resolution of complaints via mail.
5. Help line persons will not escalate a complaint to someone higher up the chain for resolution.
6. Incredibly high interest rates.
7. No web access to non UK account holders.

I take extreme dislike to their high interest rates which have been hiked again just as their holding company the Bank of Scotland has received massive Government money at zero interest.

General Comments

For the last 15 years I have been a non resident in UK.
My Beneficial Bank Account of 20 years was tranferred without any warning to a Marbles Credit Card Account last February. I had a large positive balance in the Beneficial account which went along with the unwanted transfer into Marbles. When I tried to get web access to my Marbles Account I was told I could not have it as I had a US address. BTW: They sent me the new Marbles cards to my US Address which after phoning Marbles to ask what the cards were for, is how I found out about the change. I also had a Beneficial Direct Debit payment which was stopped when the account was transferred to Marbles, this has caused me lots of woes as well.
Their help line is hopeless inadequate they will not escalate my complaint nor give out complaint phone numbers or email addresses and on top of that they actually charge you for the call as it's an 0845 no. When I first phoned them they told me my balance was too high. So I started using the card and also withdrew cash from the ATM. After about 7 days they blocked me withdrawing cash. When I phoned up the help line today I was told again my balance was too high and I said thats why I was withdrawing cash to lower the balance. They said withdrawing cash had been blocked because my balance was too high. Then the help line guy said they wanted to send me a cheque. I pointed out to him that the only Bank Account I had in UK was the Beneficial and now without that account I would have problems cashing a UK cheque. I the helpline asked for the Marbles Credit account to be transferred to a UK Bank Account , which I said "is what they should have been done in the first place". I was told it was not possible.
I checked about opening another UK Bank account and it seems they will only open one for UK residents with a UK Address. So it's a Catch 22 situation for me. Finally I was given another phone number today, so please wish me luck with my call tomorrow.
