Yamaha FJ1200 3CV Review

Good Points
No substitute for cubes! Smoooth engine,masses of torque, never need to change gear ! loads of cheap spares about, Excellent riding position,and goes on forever,plus great luggage capability all in all does it all

Bad Points
Ground clearance on the Yamaha FJ1200 3CV can catch you out ! ,could do with 6 gears,and the mirrors don't work if you're over 6ft, can't find any more bad points

General Comments
I replaced my newer 3XW abs with a 1990 3CV,I think it's a much nicer bike to look at ,mirrors are still next to useless,but the whole bike feels much more robust and settled, I have fitted 4 cone type K&N filters,Laser end cans goodridge hoses and discs and a scottoiler, it's never let me down,it's left out in all weathers,quick splash with a hose and all good again, got abit of a misfire at the moment due to the air filters need to get it rejetted and have the carbs balanced,booked in next weekend,should go like a scalded cat !,can't think of anything I'd want to replace it with, only another one (if the wife says I'm allowed !)
