General Comments

We booked our hotel The Arabian Courtyard in Dubai with Travel Republic in July 08 and paid the balance in December. The price quoted was good and much cheaper than booking direct with the hotel.

Unfortunately when we checked in at 5.30 am the hotel had no record of our booking, just what you need after a 15 hr flight from Sydney. Had it not been for the excellent staff at the hotel, which I can't recommend highly enough we could have been stranded. All we had as evidence was the hotel voucher from Travel Republic which really could have been made up by anyone.

Had the hotel been fully booked we could have been stranded. The Arabian Courtyard tried to contact Travel Republics local agent with no success and on departure 3 days later the hotel had still not been contacted or paid.

Just goes to prove that you get what you pay for. If you book through Travel Republic it might be worth contacting your hotel to confirm your booking.

E-mailed Travel Republic but surprise surprise no reply from them.

We won't be taking that risk again.
