General Comments

Having owned a 2007 Burgman 400 for 2 years and done nearly 20,000 miles with it, I was considering upgrading to a T-Max, Burgman 650 or Silver Wing. After much deliberation, I asked myself the question, why?
It is so reliable, handles well, more storage space than in Mary Poppins's carpet bag, by no means fuel hungry, comfortable and also pretty agile for such a big machine. In short, I think I have been spoilt.
Admittedly, the rear end sticks out of parking spaces as it is one of the longer maxi scooters on the market, and I am sure that there are machines out there that are more nimble through the heavy traffic (indeed I am passed on a regular basis by them). Its also heavy (but the low seating position minimises the impact for the rider). However, for sheer versatility, I don't think that there are many machines that can compete.
Coming back to the storage, I have been amazed at what I can put under the seat. (Two lids + large jacket; weekly grocery shopping).
Its no slug either, quick off at the lights in town and comfortable at 70mph on longer motorway jaunts.
Comfort for both rider and pillion is exemplary - plenty of space.
As for the handling through traffic, due to its size its not the best out there but I have a 40 mile round trip commute through heavy London traffic every day and I have to say that it amazes me even now what it can achieve given its generous proportions.
I shall be sticking to what I have got for some time to come.
