General Comments
We bought a caravan from Glossop Caravans and were assured that, before we picked it up, it would be cleaned and valeted, all scratches would be polished out or repainted and IT WOULD BE DAMP TESTED. The salesman said we would receive a courtesy call prior to collection and, IF THERE WAS ANY SIGN OF DAMP, WE MAY HAVE TO WAIT A FEW DAYS WHILE IT WAS RECTIFIED. He showed us caravans which were damp and said how dry this one was, it's the first time we've bought a caravan and we trusted him.
We were disappointed that nothing had been done to the outside of the van, except to hose it down with cold water and stick a lump of filler in a large dent at the back (this was still wet when we collected the van four weeks later).
Because of promises made and not kept and the dirty condition the van externally, we decided to have it damp tested.
It was found to be damp in seven places and it was going to cost £1,000 to rectify. There was a hole in the shower room roof and several other sites where water was getting in. It took us a week to get our money back and we have yet to receive an explanation or apology.
The man who collected the van said it would be scrapped but it seems it was already being re-offered on their website before he arrived and whilst it was still sitting on our drive.
The van is a 1992 Elddis Hurricane, 2 berth, Stock No: 28940, £2,600. The stock number is the same one as the van we bought.
Please be careful, make sure you have this caravan damp tested before you think of buying it.

From personal experience, the staff do not care about customer service and I saw the owner talk to the receptionist like something he'd trodden in. I was very shocked and will definately not be going back there. I also heard the salesmen laughing at a few customers, which was very unprofessional.
