Good Points
It projects far better than you would expect for the size guitar, and has a wonderful, balanced tone. Superb craftsmanship belies the low price, which makes this a great value. Cedar is a terrific-sounding top wood, and the bracing design seems to be perfect. The neck profile is different from anything else I have, but comfortable.
Bad Points
The cedar top is soft and mars easily, which is a characteristic of the type of wood, not a criticism of this particular guitar. Personally this is not a problem, but a buyer should be aware that if you whale on it with a flat pick you will scratch the surface. If you intend to finger pick, this is not even an issue.
General Comments
The Simon & Patrick Folk Cedar is a fine-sounding instrument. I've had mine for about a year, and it is opening up beautifully.
The cedar top and 3-layer wild cherry laminate back and sides project a tremendous sound. The fit and finish are excellent, as you would expect from any Godin guitar.
I bought this as a "campfire guitar, since I normally gig with a D-35 and a rosewood OM, but I have taken this little S&P on stage with fine results.
