Good Points

There are no good points.
The people working for them are incredibly inefficient. One person was totally rude to me, and made accusations towards me, claiming I went into the back of a car and not giving myself sufficient braking distance, when I actually got knocked at the side of my car. No matter what I said to him, he didn't acknowledge me, and later on, I found out that he made the decision it was my fault.

Your insurers should be working on your side, but I totally felt victimised in that particular phone call.

Bad Points

The list is endless.
Bad service.
Inexperienced people working for them.
Lack of communication from Tesco Car Insurance, so you always have to call them for updates on the latest status of your claims (I've spent over £120 on calls now...and will come close to making back money with respect to my excess payment)
You sense a real lack of support. You don't feel like they are working to resolve the issues for you, but instead, focus on saving themselves the maximum amount of money.

General Comments

I had a car accident back in December 2nd 2008.

It involved 4 cars on the motorway, where one guy admitted to falling asleep at the wheel, causing a series of collisions between the other cars...

It has now been 4 months, and they have still yet to settle who is liable to the accident.

All parties are in agreement that the liability falls in the hands of the guy who admitted to falling asleep!!!

In this period of 4 months, it was decided two times that the fault of the accident was me, I was the 4th car to be hit in the whole sequence of events...side collision.

They put the data incorrect from my initial claims call. They made the first decision before sending me a claims form. Therefore their decision was based on a phone call, and not paperwork...the second time they blamed me, they had made the decision before reviewing the claims form that I eventual sent to them, after requesting for them to send me the form!!!

I had to make several calls to make them update their information with respect to the claims form I sent, of which, I was lied to twice, when the person said they hadn't received my form, when another of their personnel had informed me the form had been received a week beforehand!

Finally, they are now chasing up the guy who admitted wrongdoing, but it has now been a month since they first informed me of this...

The case is yet to be resolved. So it's 4 months and counting!
I can't even cancel my insurance and reclaim some money, as the claim is yet to be resolved...

I won't go into details of my private life, but without having a car, and no replacement (due to liability yet to be decided), I have been majorly restricted and undermined, and has resulted in lots of negative things happening to me since.

I've never been so stressed in my life, and the fault lies in the hands of Tesco Insurance. I can't wait until it's resolved, so I can finally move on to better things.
