Got through to customer services ok and last years price was fine.


General Comments

I wish I read the reviews before taking out insurance with them.
Last year I bought a new caravan and like most people I searched the internet for the best insurance quote. E&L was the cheapest and the most responsive. As my policy is now due for rewal and have not yet received their new offer I contacting them for their quote for this year, I have found it to be 85 pounds more expensive, about 40% more. The customer services said that they will send me out my re-quote, this was today. I have just found out from my bank that E&L have taken full payment for this year from my account. I contacted them again and they said that I should have had a quote 1 month ago and they are sorry for not sending it, their mistake. As this has happened, they will get approval from the manager to reimburse me. I may be jumping the gun a bit but after reading some of the reviews, this has made me feel quite sick.

    Sorry to see you are having problems with this company as we are. I implore you to seek another company fr your caravan insurance.
    We unfortunately insured our caravan with E & L Insurance. It was stolen September 2008 & was reported to the police immediately. We give the police the locks which the thieves had burned off & provided a statement . We did everything E & L asked us to do like, send photographs, receipts & statement. The loss adjuster came to see us & said it was a straight forward case,that was months ago!!!!!!
    I hope you get sorted. Happy caravanning.
    My husband has phoned E & L many times and they have fobbed us off repeatedly.
    It is now 8 months without a caravan & still we are being fobbed off!!!!
    Throughout this 8 month period we have had ONE letter to keep us informed as to where the case is at.

    PLEASE CHANGE YOUR INSURERS.
    WE HAVE RESULTED TO GOING TO THE OMBUSMAN REGARDING OUR CLAIM.
    They like to take your premiums every month but don't like to do anything for it, should the worse happen.
    I will make a point off telling fellow caravaners/pet owners what this company is really like.By the looks of it other departments are the same way as well- RUBBISH.
    I wish I knew what I know now- DON'T BE FOOLED BY E & L INSURANCE.
