Overall Rating
- Value for money

- Quality of service

- Goods purchased & costvarious 100
- Layout of shop

website informative relatively easy to use
IF you know exactly what you want and can get it quickly and dont have to queue you may have a good experiance
theres a shop in every town
Bad Points
going inside the shop
is usually a bad experience
majority of younger "assistants" dont seem to care
General Comments
Smaller PC World stores seem slightly better.
Try to get an older assistant as they were taught manners by their parents.
Buying a PC last year At Bolton :-(
You will be ignored if you are a man and stand at the cheap pc section
If you can get an assistant you will be hasselled to buy a top of the range PC if you take your wife (nieve couples beware)
You will be asked if you want a warrenty for about the cost of the item you have just purchased
You will be asked to buy stuff you dont need, ooo serious look you need "blar blar" anti virus software
"no thankyou", blank look
"what anti virus have you got?" ,
"ive got a free one
blank look
Ring and reserve last month at Manchester Chester road :(
I reserved an item over the phone the lady was friendly and efficient. My nearest stores were out of stock so I reserved one
in manchester.
I crossed Manchester by car and went to the Superstore just outside Manchester on Chester road. There i find :-
unavoidable loud awful music , 3 different songs played at once, wandering assistants shout to each other over the din.
It is hot, with a black ceiling with the cheapest glaring lights
,old shiny scratched flooring coming apart. I noticed the purple and yellow signs, not a good combination,"why have you got a keyboard with a cable" looked very childish.
Is this the image PC World want to display of a state of the art electronics supplier?
I went to the checkout , only 2 out of 4 were open. The assistant just stood with her customer for 10 minutes The "assistant"
mumbled something unintelligable to me then talked to the other assistant. I asked her to repeat this , apparently
i had to go to the pick up point out of sight at the other end of the building (although no one told me this on the phone).
At the pick up point I saw a notice that said I should have waited an hour before picking up although
this was not mentioned on the phone. I waited (no assistant was there) although I did see 4 , yes
4 assistants stride off quickily together to another part of the shop. After 3 minutes (I timed it ) someone came to help me and asked me what
time I ordered, I didnt know. He went away and brought me my purchase quickly (the smallest laser printer
available ). He put it on his counter which was too small for it. I said you need a bigger table and he mumbled
something, he was probably as annoyed as i was. I took the purchase to the exit and the security guard said "I want to see
that" so I put the box on the checkout. He read aloud the model number. I expected him to scan the box out or
something only we stand in silence for a minute. I say "Yes ?" and he says "I want to see your receipt"
I show him and escape out of the door into reality.
Ive just wasted an hour of my weekend and knocked a day of fmy life through stress, thanks pc world

I agree with this review because... its very true of PC World, I remember buying a laptop at the Oldham PC World when I went to leave the 'security guard' stopped me and asked for the receipt for it even though I hadnt left his staring eyes at any time, he then mumbled about seeing my credit card, I told him he wasnt seeing it and that the laptop was no longer wanted, I managed to get a full refund after an argument with the store manager and have never shopped there since!
