eVERYTHING WHEN IT WENT WRONG AFTER 15 MONTHS.


General Comments

Our fridge/freezer is only 15 months old. It began making weird noises and the freezer went on to defrost everything. Forgot it was on 2 year guarantee so called an engineer out. He checked it out and said the compressor had gone. As he was the local repair guy he called at 7am the next morning to fix it and replace the part having been first contacted by Samsung to do the repair. The next morning the freezer was flashing at 15o c and the ice had defrosted. I called Samsung and the woman was less than helpful and despite me repeating what had happened with the appliance she mentioned had I been watching watchdog the tv prog. I said no and asked her to elaborate. She kept having to check with her supervisor. She kept to a strict script and kept telling me to unplug the appliance for 10 mins and set it at a higher temp. Despite this the temperature in both fridge and freezer kept rising so my husband phoned customer services. The operator was more than helpful and told my husband that an engineer would call on Tues.( The appliance became a prob on Thurs). As a result of this faulty appliance I had to contact my home insurance and claim for the contents of the freezer thus putting up my premiums. To summarise, if the repair is not finally done to my satisfaction I am either going to demand my money back or a new replacement!
