Good Points

the audio is adjustable and very good. low noise levels. good built in mics. recommended

Bad Points

the input/output jacks may let this great recorder down.considering you can buy a mobile phone which has radio - takes photos - has a load of info stored inside .. and can record and play mp3 ... i would question the price of this portable device.

General Comments

my 2nd purchase of a digital recorder. in my search for a recorder to replace my minidisk i purchased the Edirol Roland R-09HR on the strength of reviews. its small but solid. it only just fits a shirt pocket. the built in mics are very good. the noise levels generally are pretty good and the quality can be set in the menu so its quite flexable. i wont go on about specs as you can read these at the Edirol site.
ive carried out varying tests and even connected a pair of my own mics and external pre-amp with good results. its very versatile but i fear for the small 3.5mm jack sockets. i still have memories of broken pcb,s on walkmans in the past. so bottom line im still trying to find a good stand alone digital recorder for indoors with decent sockets and something that wont fall on the floor.
