General Comments


I went online to order a couple of items from Kiddicare, one of which was a car seat. After placing my order, I entered all my card details and was directed to the secure server, into which I had to enter my password. Instead of confirming the order, the website informed me that my password was incorrect, and to try again. I did this another couple of times, and then returned to the site to retry, after being informed the order had not been authorised. To my annoyance, my basket had been cleared out, and I had to re-shop before attempting to pay again. The same thing happened. On the third attempt, I reset my authorisation password, and the order went through, and I received an order code, with the advice my order was being reviewed, I may be contacted. Later that day, I received 3 emails, each with a separate order number - despite my payment apparently not being authorised, I had 3 orders, all with the same things on, coming. I contacted Kiddicare immediately, who were massively unhelpful and said that I would either have to arrange returns myself, or refuse the orders when the courier came, for which they would charge £20 per order, £40 in total. I pointed out this was their error, I had only been following advice on the website, and received no response to this. When I asked why no one had contacted me to verify the order was correct when it had clearly been flagged up I was informed it is not unusual for someone to place the same order several times "they might be ordering for family members or friends as sometimes happens". I sent several emails, and received only statutory 2 line replies, no apologies and no offers to return the unwanted items despite in my view this clearly being their error. In my opinion this company has no apparent interest in customer service, and their sole task seemed to be fobbing me off.
