I hired a car from Glasgow Airport for 8 days at a cost of around £150 which I thought was reasonable. The staff were good and no issues with picking up and dropping off. Well so I thought. A few days later I checked my credit card only to see that I had been charged over £56.
I called Budget and spoke with a representative who advised me that this was due to a puncture and a small chip in the driver side window (note the small chip was noted in the rental agreement when I hired the car). I lodged a dispute as I am very confident there was no puncture although I had driven the car forty minutes on the motorway prior to dropping off.
I received a response from the company yesterday advising that they were upholding the claim and showed me a receipt for a new tyre but nothing regarding the chip on the window. I did send a response back requesting more proof regarding the puncture and I find that really hard to believe that there was one and why there is no mention of the chip on the driverside window. Awaiting a response on that.
Frankly the dispute has made the rental experience really bad and I would not rent from them again.
