Bad Points

Slow to answer phone. Have to speak to different people. Different offices work different hours. Inefficeint. Needed to supply lots of info they'd alread y got. Very disappointing


General Comments

Moving house with Scottish Power is like pulling teeth.

I phoned them today to say we were moving and that we wanted to move our account from our current home to our new home. After a 10 minute wait in the call queue, I spoke to somone. After a bit of a faff she took my details for our current house. Then I asked her about the new house, and she said she couldn't help and I needed to speak to someone else. Unfortuntaly the sales office wasn't open so I'd have to call back another time.

I tried again later and after another 15 minute wait spoke to someone who asked me lots of questions about the new house, then started asking me about my bank account details etc. I said that as an existing scottishpower customer they already had this. She said it was 'on another system'. In the end, after they had asked me lots of questions which they already knew the answer to it became too hard and I gave up. The whole shambles had lasted 40 minutes. Compare that with Virgin Media and Southern Water, who took seconds to transfer my account, and Scottish Power seems extremely inefficient and doesn't seem to value its customers or their time...

I'm not sure if it is the same with all companies, but there must be a quicker way.
