Good Points

Good weather protection (other than hands when temperature drops to about 2 degrees and below - rectified with a pair of heated gloves - sorted!), comfortable over long distances, good mpg and plenty of built in storage space.

Bad Points

Very few. 12,500 mles comes round quickly for a V-belt change at over £200.

General Comments

Moved up from a Piaggio X9 250, and have now had my YP400 for 3 and a half years and done 26,500 miles. Fantastic all year round commuter/tourer. Very comfortable and plenty of storage space, plus lockable glove box. 40 mile a day commute gives me about 65mpg, on a mix of A and B roads and Motorway. Touring you can get over 70mpg, if not hurrying.
Plenty of power for overtaking, and pretty stable, even in windy conditions. Surprises other "bike" riders who don't expect such good performance from a "scooter".
Only let me down once - starter motor failed at just over 25,000 miles. Dealer and Yamaha never known this to have failed before. Had the unit reconditioned, and been OK since, though expensive to fix as almost everything had to be removed on the bike, to get at it.
