General Comments

My honest advice would be to stay away from Sterling LGV Training. They have absolutely no etiquette. They got me with their special offer of £1295 for class 1 and class 2 combined. It's a big rip off as you have to do a CPC course after passing the class 2 otherwise you cant proceed with the class 1. You have to revise a book of 400 pages and the exams are held every 3 months, not ideal when the company only gives you 1 year to complete the class 2 and class 1. So in effect, they know what they are doing and are charging you £1295 for the class 2 alone, and not to forget, every time you fail, you have to fork out another £300 plus.
I did the class 2 and passed on the 3rd attempt. On the 1st attempt, their truck broke down on me during the test. I didnt get a rebook until exactly 2 months later, which was a big inconvenience as i had lost the 4 days practise that i got prior to my 1st test. I failed on my 2nd attempt and i was booked a third test for a month later for an additional cost of £300 plus. This 3rd test was cancelled by the DSA the day before the test for unforeseen reasons. Again, i had to wait another month for the rebook. Sterling charged me another £300 plus again even though i had already paid for the 3rd test. They said its procedure and they would send me a claim form that i should send to the DSA to get reimbursed. Sterling stated on the claim form that their hourly charge rate is £50, and as the DSA only reimburses 4 hours of training, i got reimbursed £200 only which is well short of the £300 plus i paid.
Their training is not one on one. You share driving time with someone else and consider yourself lucky if you get more than 3 hours driving in a day. The instructors kill a lot of your time as they always stopping for some sort of a break, one minute tea break, next min toilet break, next min fag break, and next min lunch break. I found them useless, very impatient, and one instructor constantly kept shouting and discouraging me and the other trainee. I constantly felt on the edge and it shouldnt be like that. Keep away. You have been warned.
