Book of the Dead by Patricia Cornwell is not the book I had hoped it would be. I love reading this series but they seem to become a bit more erratic as they progress.
Lots of unanswered plot developments but maybe this helps to ensure readers buy the next book in the series.
Once again the Kay Scarpetta series speeds us headlong into serial killers and psychotics. The old sidekicks are back including the dead boyfriend and the usual forensics are employed to catch a murderer.
This book seems a bit more personal than some of the others which should delight the readers.
The shift from her earlier books from first to third person does always work. It might seem to allow for more character development but it seems to actually dull it down a bit.
Kay has also slowed down on the cooking in this one and seems to be now days a dab hand at gardening. With the help of a newly introduced character called Bull. Why this character appears I can't really say, as you seem to still know nothing about him by the end of the book.
