Bad Points

We had a quote over the telephone for buildings and contents insurance with AA Home Insurance which was slightly cheaper than our renewal quote. However when the policy documents came through the year our house was built was 200 out plus the insurance was due to start on 26th April 2009 when it should have been 26th March 2009. The requote was more than £350 more than our renewal so we cancelled. However, the full payment had been debited from our current account six weeks before the policy was due to start and although a full refund was promised nothing had been refunded 5 days later. We called again to find out where it was tobe kept on hold for ages, a call WE were paying for and were eventually told that it could not be refunded for another couple of days because the policy was not due to start for another 32 days and the system would not allow a refund more than 30 days ahead.


General Comments

We take it that the AA has had the use of OUR money for this time whilst we were told we would have to wait because of the System. They agreed that the fault was theirs but would do nothing but wait until the time was up.

We DEFINETLY will NEVER take out a policy for any insurance with the AA in the future.
