In my experience they Mmake it very difficult to claim.


General Comments

People take out health insurance so that when things go wrong, they get a seamless, high quality, professional service. The true test of medical insurance is how things are handled when you need them. When you need rapid access to healthcare professionals, don't expect Norwich Union Health Insurance to make things easy for you.

When I had a recent accident, rather than helping to line up the help I needed, they asked for information from my GP. When they got the information, they said it wasn't enough. Remember that many GPs will take a week or so to get a letter to them. They asked my GP for more information. They then say they will review your claim in 5 days. It took me almost one month for them to make a decision on some physiotherapy following an accident. One month later, I found that they tried to claim that it was a pre-exisiting condition (which it wasn't - it was an accident, I should know !). As the previous reviewer says, it seems they will do anything to get out of paying. You rarely speak to the same person. Nice enough people at the other end of the phone, but in my opinion the end product is sadly lacking. I've just cancelled.
