Good Points

Above all Sporty and Responsive and Quick. Of course most scooters are practical which goes without saying. Though the storage is not as big as the Yamaha Majesty you still can get grocery items under the seat so you are not carrying them with your hand or between your legs -sport bikers can't do either of those things and we are the ones that look down at? I don't get it. Well the good news is that when they get in their late 30s and 40s they too will wake up smart.


Bad Points

Storage is not a big as other mid size scooters. Also, the gas suffers in the mid 40mpg. Oh gee...still better than any car or van I also drive. This scooter really would benefit from using some kind of stabilizers found on every newer sport bike. When you remove your hands from the steering control the scooter shimmers moderately.


General Comments

The Yamaha TMAX 500 bike is sexy and surprising. One time I was riding down from Oregon to California for a high school reunion which was about a 7 hour drive and I saw a Harley Cruiser up ahead in the slow lane. I chuckled to myself and did something funny. As I drew closer to this mean looking biker in the fast lane I started to give the appearance that I was peddling my scooter while looking like a geeky guy struggling to get the scooter to go faster. He and his female companion just started to bust up and waved with the thumbs up. The speed limit down the Hwy 5 corridor is 75mph. I still had plenty of power to go. I will say that the only thing that made me nervous going down wasn't the speed that I had to keep up with but it was the wind. It was wicked evil in some spots near Tracy and Livermore. I thought I was going to die in one particular part going over the grade towards Livermore. Anyone from that area will tell you how bad the wind blows through there. Other than that this scooter is awesome.
