When I first bought my Gamo the firing did not work properly. Then I found out a previous owner had tampered with the firing mechanism inside the gun. I put the mechanism back how it should have been and it has been alright since. A good practice gun for my target shooting interests. If I could not produce a good 'group' on my targets I would not have kept the gun. On a good day I have surprised myself how accurate my Gamo can be. Not a serious target gun like my Feinwerbau 100 but good enough to enjoy shooting with. I find my Gamo R-77 to be reliable even though I bought it second hand from a gun shop. I used to think the trigger pull was strong at first but with single firing I only need to pull the trigger to the revolve the cylinder them aim at my target and the trigger pull a little more. The best pellets for my Gamo R-77 and recently purchased Beretta 92 FS are RWS Hobby pellets. After using my Beretta the Gamo is much lighter. I like the use of the adjustable sights on the Gamo R-77. With all tight fittings pellets the barrel needs to be clean. I would not buy another Gamo R-77 I would buy a S&W (CO2)revolver next time because I have owned a S&W .38 revolver converted to .22 for target shooting and the S&W always felt good to use. The Gamo is a good introduction to shooting .177 with CO2 with a revolver.
Feinwerkbau 100; Beretta 92 FS; Gamo R-77 Laser 4"; Walther PPK/S.
