Excellent power to weight ratio. Powerful and cuts smooth. Anti-Vib is second to none.
The Stihl MS 361 Chain Sawsaw is exceptionally smooth, cuts fast and has no trouble with hard wood. Purchased mine w/a 20" bar when I needed to cut up a 26" live oak trunk. It had no trouble with the trunk and made for a good break-in of the saw. It cuts soft wood so fast with the aggressive 33RSC chain that I sometimes feel the need to hold the saw back...it cuts that fast.
The only negative for me is the on/off switch. It's a little finicky to click to the "on" position. It has to do with the mechanical design and is a little annoying but not something that would have kept me from purchasing the saw.
I traded up an MS 290 for this saw and it was well worth it to me. Anyone considering the MS 290/310/390 should really consider the MS 361.
