I have 4,000 miles on my 650 Burgman. It is a pleasant, all around, easy-to-live-with bike. The glove boxes and huge trunk make everyday commuting a snap. It starts every time and takes off quickly--even in below freezing temperatures. Handling is wonderful with plenty of ground clearance and good brakes. I replaced the stock windshield with a Clearview and, for me, having the right windshield transformed the bike! It is sooo much better now! The front seat is fine and the rear seat is wider than on a Gold Wing. However,I find this bike is twitchy at slow speeds, notchy, with a difficult to control throttle response that I blame on the CVT automatic transmission. I can live with it, but really tight figure 8s and U-turns are not as easy as on other bikes. Above a walking pace, the CVT is great with two automatic modes and a manual mode--if you're into that. For one person, 50 horsepower is plenty, but for two up riding, it could use another 25 ponies. I get a consistent 45 mpg in my short commute. On longer, highway rides, traveling two up, I get over 50 mpg. Nice bike. Very easy to live with in the real world.

What was wrong with the original Windscreen. I am picking my 650 today.

I found this review helpful because...

I did notice the slight prob at low speed....has me trying to put in the clutch...heh.

I don't mind the windscreen, but im only 5'2" and can just see over it when it is low, and it doesn't obstruct my very when it is high. Although the view thru it make me feel as if I am back riding my snowmobile. Not sure if a replacement windshield would be clearer or not.

Fit a throttle tamer and all your low speed troubles will go away. It did for me.
