Good Points

Believable - this film draws you in b/c it's so easy to believe that people actually experience these things frequently in this culture.
Cinematography - compelling...I don't know how the cameraman got some of his shots. Also, often at night, a sort of blue hue added to the feel of the story.
Not a sensual movie - the R rating probably is about the cruelty to kids.....not a sexual reason for the rating. A refreshing change, but on the other hand, who wants to see cruelty to kids?

Bad Points

Violence - though not really for violence's sake.
Cruelty - how do adults do these things? I almost got up and walked out, it pushed me that close to the edge. Fortunately in the movie, the kids managed to triumph at many turns. I doubt that the kids who live there get so many breaks.

General Comments

Slumdog Millionaire is one of the best movies of the past few years. I saw it four days ago, and want to go see it again. The three main actors who played the two brothers, and their little friend who is a girl...all the actors who played them throughout their different ages, all did a fabulous jobs. The actors who played jerks were really convincing. The main guy who played Jamal, who was in the quizshow.....he was so believable that you would swear he was one of your best friends.
Whoever wrote the script had a brilliant idea. The gameshow was a good platform for all the flashbacks that formed the movie.
