Good Points

Best all-rounder I ' ve had " and there ' s been a few!


Bad Points

Could probably have done with a 'sixth' gear as 'redlining' on overtaking invokes the cutout.


General Comments

Had this 2004 ' twin-spark 'BMW F650GS for 18 months, have fitted a Techlusion Fuel Nanny fuel system " surge eliminated and can adjust without a BMW computer (so it ' s paid for itself). Front end has progressive fork springs so even better handling, and had the seat rebuilt with gel insert so the long distance runs e.g. Scotland to Kent/Bristol twice, much more comfortable. Fuel consumption is astonishing, have even considered sending money to the OPEC people as I feel I ' m not paying my whack on this thing!! It ' ll cruise all day on the motorway, but this is boring for this machine as it loves the B roads " but it will redline far too easily until you get used to it. Not so good in bad weather as you are bolt upright - admittedly you can see over the top of our four wheeled friends and see what they are up too way, way ahead " but you ' re on a par with ' high-sided 'vehicles in strong winds. If I know that type of weather ' s about then I use a very heavy K100LT and stay dry and warm and very much on the road. Toured Morocco on one for ten days and kept up with the R1200GS ' s (much to their disgust) and next month doing the ' short-way down 'to Portal.
