General Comments

Purchased this Bailey Ranger 510/4 van in 2005 so now starting its fifth year of use.
The front ABS panel was replaced under warranty by Bailey in the second year due to stress fractures which seem common on some Baileys around this year of manufacture.
I have towed this van, MTPL 1259kgs, with a Citroen C5 and a Kia Sedona with no problems.
The layout of this van can be used as a five berth with the front bed used as two singles and a tot in the centre, as we have used it with our Grandson. We haven't used the table area as beds yet but may do so in the future now we also have a Grand Daughter.
The van is warm and comfy in cold weather with the heater on and ticking over either on gas or electric.
As previously stated, the rear toilet door should be closed for towing as its likely to strain the hinges which aren't very robust. I also remove the kitchen drawers when towing and store on the floor as they have slid out in the past due to the magnets not being strong enough to hold them in place.
I have found it Impossible to get a nose weight of 85kgs with two gas bottles installed in the front locker without affecting stability by counter weighting the rear. The spare wheel, an extra, will also make the front too heavy. It can be stored under the van with an Alko wheel bracket, but you will find it impossible to remove, using an Alko side lift jack on the same side.
If you can get this van at a good price buy it but do check the front and rear ABS panels for stress fractures especially on the top where they are joined to the roof section, you will need steps for this.
All in all, a good van but I suspect not as good as earlier Baileys.

I found this review very helpful because I am considering a 510/4. I also have a C5 and the bit about stress fractures was very important.
