The car I had gave the up the ghost, so I needed to get a new car within a week. Looked on the Motorpoint website and found a 57 plate Focus that I liked the look of. Went to Motorpoint (Glasgow) the next day and saw the car. The salesman was very friendly and helpful, and didn't try to pressure us in any way, even when it came to buying the extras. We just said we didn't need them, and that was the end of it.

We paid a deposit, but wanted to come back the following day for a test drive, so we only had to pay £100 to secure it. Test drive went well, and there was just a bit of paperwork. Again very friendly and helpful staff. All questions were answered and didn't get any impression that they weren't being honest.

The car needed a few small jobs done, wheel trims needing fixed, and there was a letter missing from the badge. We picked up the car 5 days later, the jobs had been done and the car was ready to go.

It's been the easiest car buying experience I've had, and I would recommend Motorpoint to anyone.

The only thing I would say is that you should know that the car you're getting is imported. Check to see if it was registered in the UK first, or elsewhere in Europe. As long as you go in knowing what to expect, you'll not get any nasty surprises later on. Get the VIN number, and do an HPI check ( £9.99 from RAC). It'll tell you what you need to know. Only thing I could say is that they forgot to give us our insurance cover note, but only took a trip back to the store to pick it up on the same day
