I have bought many things online with no problem but today tried to order something from a company that uses clicksafe which I knew nothing about and having been a lloyds tsb customer for 40 years they decided not to bother notifying me about. The site declined my card so I tried again,my card was declined again so I phoned to find out why I was asked my sort code, account number and two letters from mothers maiden name. When I gave this information I was treated like a criminal, not told what the problem was and told i would have to take photographic proof to my branch before i could use my account.I demanded to speak to a manager who seemed rude ,also made me feel like a criminal and stressed that I would have to take photographic proof to my bank. When checking my emails later i discovered a clicksafe account activation email and when i logged in discovered there was a transaction for two payments from my account so i had to phone again to find out what was happening. This time I was asked for DOB and i had to go through the story again where i was told its because my bank does not have a mothers maiden name registered for me and she also said if the staff had checked earlier they would have seen it was in as NA.She also told me she would put me through to a manager to complain and also get my money back for this double transaction. However she put me through to the basic phonebank number and I had to explain the situation from start again.I had to hold for a manager who now says the only way round this is to be sent a new card and pin number or again to take photographic proof in to my branch. This procedure has now taken almost 4 hrs on pc and phone all because someone from tsb on phone asked for two letters which were not registered in their system anyway.the manager offered me £20 for inconvenience of phone calls etc but i should also have asked for my taxi fare to branch and back again and also time off work to visit bank.
