Bad Points
If I had to list one bad point, it would be that the side-stand is a little hard for me to put down. I have to flip up my foot peg up in order to place the stand all the way down or I jab my left calf pretty hard. That's a very minor inconvenience that I can probably just chalk up to my shorter stature (5 feet/8 inches).
General Comments
I'm a newer rider who is short, so the size of this Harley Davidson 883 low Sportster 883 cc bike is perfect. It fits me like a glove. I've had experienced riders tell me that the 883cc engine is not powerful enough and that I shouldn't waste my time with it and I should get something with more power. That's not the case for alot of riders. I've learned that every rider has their own preferences. If it feels right, it probably is. The engine has plenty of kick and when riding with a group, there is no problem keeping up. Handlebar and control placement is perfect. It corners well. Brakes are fine. The Harley Sportster 883 Low is an excellent sturdy bike, made with the same quality as the bigger models. It has the classic Harley look to it. Mine is black (with a lot of chrome like most Harley's). Just my opinion.... if you're a newer rider or shorter in stature, this could very well be the bike for you. I may never upgrade to a bigger bike. It's just that good.

I found this review very helpful because... Like Sean I am a new short rider (5ft 1") and this review along with a few others helped me to make the decision on buying the 883low. It is all Sean said it is and I love it but I also agree on the fact that the jiffy stand is a pain to reach and I have a nice bruise thanks to catching my calf on the foot peg. I think I may have to invest in a jiffy stand extension. It's great to ride, comfortable with the reach seat and keeps up well with my hubby's Suzuki V Strom.
