Bad Points

Wrong emergency european number printed on policy!
Useless in helping you abroad, different person each time on the phone with a different story on what was happening with your car, nobody from Tesco seemed to know where Austria actually was! Finally the only call that Tesco eventually made to us was to ask us to get the Austrian garage to write the invoice in German so that it was easier for Tesco!!!! What a joke


General Comments

Terrible service, my family and I would still be in Austria now if we hadn't arranged for our car to be fixed and paid for it ourselves. Our first call to Tesco we were told they would bring us a car out and take ours home, next call knew nothing about this and that this wouldn't be happening, then We were told that this was new to them(an accident abroad that is!) and we had to give at least 2 weeks notice(of an accident?) to a sister company called Vannamead or something like that and then they could take up to month to assess the car (yes, we were there for a weeks holiday and had to be back at work for Monday, absolutely ridiculous)
When we left for Austria we were told that we were covered completely as if we were in England, we won't ever go with Tesco again." !!! This is my own experience Feb 2009
