Good Points
Excellent machine for less than £100. Picture and sound quality very good. Styling surprisingly good too.
Bad Points
Very noisy when playing discs.
General Comments
Have been looking for a dvd for ages. Almost paid twice as much for a Toshiba SD210E from Richer. Read the excellent reviews and bought a Dansai 852 from my local Tescos. Very pleased with the picture and sound quality. As well as the slim design.
Only problem I have and as result the machine is going back is the noise when playing a disc. It is very noisy and can be heard over the quieter moments of a film. Anybody else had the same problem?

Had the same problem playing an unscratched dvd of 'Dust till Dawn'. When you scroll through the chapters it made a vibrating noise which changed intensity according to which chapter was selected, some chapters made no noise at all. Played a different dvd and no noise at all, played a music cd which was scratched and I had made a cdr copy on the pc when played made a noise like a hammer drill but when playing the copy no noise at all. I think the unit has a £300 case with £30 internals the reader makes the noise when its working hard. Still a bargain at £100! Can anyone tell me how to play jpegs on the unit as a photo album.
